Late Season
Posted by David on Dec 1st 2015
By now the rutting activity is pretty much over. This time of year I start hunting the evenings only. My late season tactic is to try intercept deer going to food plots and or other food sources. My goal for the rest of the season is to fill my extra doe tag and maybe get a chance at a good buck. There are actually too many does on the main property I hunt in Minnesota so I'm making taking a mature doe a priority. We just got six inches of wet heavy snow yesterday and I'm expecting the deer to make eating in my food plots a priority. The deer in my area have gotten some pressure from the neighbors and are still a little nocturnal from the gun season. For that reason I will be trying to cut them off before they get to the food. My gut feeling is that they won't make to the plot in time unless the weather turns colder. It's definetly not to late to shoot the buck you've been after. A friend of mine just took a 153" 10 point with his muzzleloader. So stick with it. Put a plan together and get out there!
Also we have the 2016 Browning Trail Cameras coming. Looks like they will be even better. Faster, new camo paint job, better video system and the FHD P cameras get a viewing screen. Be sure to check them out in the online store. You can order now and they will ship as soon as possible when they come in. Thanks! David
